The Alice in Chains juggernaut just keeps rolling along: the Seattle rock band has announced a fall mega-tour.

The reunited Seattle rock band, with William DuVall as vocalist, will be joined by Deftones and Mastodon for “BlackDiamondSkye,” a tour opening Sept. 16 in Chicago and playing KeyArena Oct. 8.

Tickets go on sale in selective markets starting May 15 at BlackDiamondSkye and Live Nation. Fan club pre-sales begin May 10 for certain dates.

Check out this video, which recently appeared on the Internet to stoke rumors about the tour.

Here are a couple of quotes from a statement that went out to media:

“Rather than launch with a traditional tour announcement, we wanted to engage the fans first,” says David Benveniste, founder of Velvet Hammer Music and Management Group, which represents Alice In Chains and Deftones.

“We gave them a cryptic clip featuring video snippets of each band and they lit up the Internet. Now there’s an entire online community talking about the tour and speculating about the bands involved. It’s thrilling to see them communicate and respond so positively to this exciting tour.”

“We’re really looking forward to touring with our friends, Deftones and Mastodon,” says Alice In Chains guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell. “Each band has its own unique flavor and the combination of all three will make for a great show and a good time on the road.”

Alice in Chains are still touring behind the album “Black Gives Way to Blue” on Virgin/EMI.

Fueled by the Grammy-nominated hit song, “Check My Brain,” which soared to No. 1 on the Billboard Rock Songs Chart, “Black Gives Way to Blue” entered Billboard’s Top 200 at No. 5. A followup single, “Your Decision,” also reached No. 1 on the Rock Songs Chart.
