The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum pays tribute to the life and legacy of two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Michael Jackson this weekend at its 12th annual Rock and Soul Festival.

Jackson, 50, died on Thursday in Los Angeles.

“Michael Jackson was one of the most creative and influential recording artists of the last 40 years,” Terry Stewart, president and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, said in a statement to media.

“He was uniquely gifted with his talent as a songwriter, dancer and performer. While we deeply mourn the loss of any inductee, few have generated the response from fans like the tragedy we learned of this week. His legacy will live on for a long, long time.”

Sunday’s tribute features a video presentation in the 4th Floor Theater, including footage from his induction with the Jackson 5 in 1997 and his induction as a solo artist in 2001. Music from Jackson’s career will play in the Museum throughout the weekend. And Stewart leads a special tribute to Jackson’s life and music on the Main Stage. Performing the free event are Artistree, Christelle, Eddie Holman, Kharizmah, Malina Moye and Sylver Logan Sharp. Fans are encouraged to bring a Jackson-inspired memento to display at a memorial space in the main lobby.

The museum’s annual Rock and Soul Festival celebrates African American music, coinciding with Black Music Month.

Separately, Beyonce, Ne-Yo and Wyclef Jean and other artists are also planning tributes to Jackson at the Black Entertainment TV Awards on Sunday.
