Seattle photographer Alex Crick has been a fan of soul and R&B singer Janelle Monae since she burst on the scene several years ago.

Her latest tour in support of “The Electric Lady,” her amazing new album featuring collaborations with Prince, Erykah Badu, Miguel and other stars, featured a show Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Showbox SoDo.

Crick was there for the entire concert to capture the excitement (and multiple wardrobe changes) of a fast-rising singer-dancer who is destined to play larger venues.
