The next show scheduled at the Woodland Park Zoo’s Zootunes concert series is Joan Baez Thursday, Aug. 13, at the north meadow.
Unfortunately, the concert is sold out. But there’s always someone standing by the entrance gate trying to sell extra tickets. You might get lucky.
The show is timely in light of the release of her new album, “Day After Tomorrow,” on Sept. 9.
Here’s my interview with Joan Baez from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. She talks about standing outside the White House (in a hotel bathrobe) on the night Barack Obama was elected the first African-American U.S. President. It will be interesting to hear Baez’s comments about Obama now that he has served for a few months.
Other upcoming Zootunes shows include Nanci Griffith Aug. 16, Susan Tedeschi Aug. 19 and Amos Lee Aug. 26.
Here’s the complete Zootunes schedule.
