Those who go out on New Year’s Eve are always looking for something different.

The fabulously fun-loving Three Crowns Ball at the “architecturally significant” Swedish Club is the new kid on the block when it comes to hipster NYE bashes.

The event at 1920 Dexter Ave. N. on the east side of Queen Anne features four bands, three DJs, three bars, a Swedish smorgasbord – and a view of the fireworks at the Space Needle. Oh, and some pretty cool mid-century architecture (the perfect photo backdrop for your 1960 DeSoto).

The entertainment lineup on four stages includes “spy, pop and surf” band The Spyrographs (with singer Cheryl Serio), ska/dance group Easy Big Fella; the jazzy, soulful Gravity Kings, and ‘60s-style pop band The Moonspinners.

At 12:15 a.m., a complimentary Swedish-style “pancake toast” breakfast snack will be served to bring in the New Year. And there’s a confetti cannon at midnight

If you don’t want to drive, the Hyatt Place Hotel offers a free shuttle service for hotel guests; you can book directly with the hotel here.
