City Arts magazine (formerly Sound magazine) is offering its first 2010 installment of “The Song Show,” an intimate singer-songwriter showcase combining live music and interviews, Wednesday (Jan. 6) at the Triple Door.
The intimate evening features solo performances by top Northwest singer-songwriters Jesse Sykes, Damien Jurado, Macklemore and Tomo Nakayama of Grand Hallway, who will share insights about the craft of songwriting with host Mark Baumgarten, executive editor of City Arts.
This is the first quarterly show of 2010 at the Triple Door. It should be a fascinating mix of live music and live music journalism, if you will, offering a chance to learn what makes these notable local artists tick.
“The Song Show,” through live performances and online film footage, has showcased such local talents as Joshua Morrison, Fatal Lucciauno, Star Anna, Kind of Like Spitting’s Ben Barnett, Common Market’s RA Scion and the Lonely Forest’s John van Deusen.

Doors open at 5 p.m.; music begins at 7 p.m. All ages are welcome. Admission: $15.
