Grammy-winning punk band Green Day brings its summer tour to Seattle, playing KeyArena July 3.
In its first major tour of North America in more than three years, Green Day performs songs from its eighth studio album, “21st Century Breakdown,” due May 15 from Reprise Records.
Since 2006, singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong and his bandmates have been working on the operatic punk-rock album with producer Butch Vig, known for his work with Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins, among many others.
The album’s first single, “Know Your Enemy,” was released April 16. The new album is the band’s first studio album since “American Idiot” in 2004. “Idiot” spawned five hit singles and sold more than 12 million copies.
Tickets to the KeyArena show are $25-$49.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. May 16 at LiveNation.com and Ticketmaster.
