Friends and music industry folk gathered for a little appreciation party for my years of service as the P-I’s pop music critic Friday, May 29, at the Feedback Lounge in West Seattle.
I was very honored by the party, which drew many friends, family members and colleagues from the music industry.
Guests included Kent Morrill and Buck Ormsby of the Wailers (who presented me with a framed, autographed “The Fabulous Wailers: Live at the Castle” album cover), Alan White of Yes (and his wife Gigi), Billy Joe Huels of the Dusty 45s and many others.
Hosts of the bash, which drew more than 100 guests, were Carla DeSantis of Rockrgrl.com and musician Kim Warnick, formerly of the Fastbacks and Visqueen (Kim and I share the same birthday, April 7).
Professional music photographer Darrell Westmoreland and my former P-I colleague, Curt Milton, shot dozens of photos. Westmoreland’s photos can be viewed on his Web site.
