The fifth annual KISW “Rock Out Hunger” food drive to benefit Northwest Harvest is 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at Auburn Chevrolet, 1600 Auburn Way N.
The station’s listeners are encouraged to bring a bag of nonperishable food items, which KISW will begin accepting at 7 a.m. In exchange, each listener who donates will get a free ticket either to the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival July 14 or Crue Fest 2 July 27, both at White River Amphitheatre.
Northwest Harvest is a statewide hunger relief agency that distributes more than 22 million pounds of food to needy families each year. In a recessionary summer, kids have less access to free or discounted school meals, increasing the strain on families.
