Based in Brooklyn, N.Y., Rubblebucket is an eclectic, genre-defying party band with horns, synthesizer and funky guitars.

Past live shows have included dancing robot puppets, a crowd-surfing horn section and concertgoers climbing on stage for dance breakouts.

Rubblebucket’s current EP, “Save Charlie,” came out last month on Communion Music, and the band has been getting great press from the Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, Spin, Paste magazine and other publications. Spin called the group “a Bonnaroo-ready hybrid of world music influences as re-imagined by well-educated collegians.”

Is Rubblebucket estined for greatness? You be the judge.

The group arrives in Seattle this weekend for a colorful, post-Halloween show Saturday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. at Barboza on Capitol Hill. The show includes sets by The Hoot Hoots and Dana Buoy (of Akron Family). Tickets are $10.
