The first of the big outdoor concerts series begins next week when colorful new-wave band The B-52s take the stage at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at the north meadow at the Woodland Park Zoo.

The family oriented series includes Mavis Staples and Allen Toussaint June 24, followed by Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin, Shawn Colvin, Shawn Colvin and Buddy Miller July 1-2; Ladysmith Black Mambazo July 15 (sold out), Los Lobos July 19, Cowboy Junkies and Son Volt July 22 (sold out), Indigo Girls July 26 (sold out), Jewel July 30, Joan Baez Aug. 13 (sold out), Nanci Griffith Aug. 16, Susan Tedeschi and J.J. Grey & Mofro Aug. 19, and Amos Lee Aug. 26.
