Two days, three stages and more than 50 bands.
Seattle’s premier indie music festival, the Capitol Hill Block Party, begins today and continues through Saturday just east of Broadway between East Pine Street and East Union Street. Most of the action takes place on 10th and 11th Avenues and East Pike Street. The main stage is located near the intersection of Broadway and East Pike Street.
Led by punk veterans Sonic Youth, the lineup over two days include Gossip, The Dutchess and the Duke, Jesus Lizard, Built to Spill, The Blakes, Hey Marseilles, Moondoggies, Maldives, The Thermals and They Live!
The variety is amazing, from punk icons Sonic Youth to ultra hipsters Gossip (of Portland) to theatrical rappers They Live!
Tickets are $23-$25 at TicketsWest or the entrance gates. You can find all the information you need at the festival Web site.
