Pearl Jam has released a new video of “Sirens” from its upcoming album, “Lightning Bolt,” the Seattle rock band’s first studio album since “Backspacer” four years ago.
“Sirens” is a powerful, reflective ballad with a subtle country tinge. Guitarist McCready wrote the music, and singer Eddie Vedder penned the lyrics.
The video was directed by photographer Danny Clinch, who also directed a concert DVD documenting Pearl Jam’s 2006 tour of Italy, titled “Immagine in Cornice.” Clinch’s photos have appeared in Rolling Stone, Spin, Vanity Fair, The New York Times and The New Yorker.
“Lightning Bolt” is due Oct. 15 on Monkeywrench/Republic Records and can be preordered on the band’s official website here.
The first leg of a 25-date North American tour opens Oct. 11 in Pittsburgh and closes Nov. 1 in New Orleans, with the band’s headlining set at Voodoo Music + Arts Experience.
The second leg of the fall tour opens Nov. 15 in Dallas and closes Dec. 6 in Seattle.
