Kelly Clarkson has just released a country remix of “Mr. Know It All,” her famous breakup song of 2011.

The country version, with its mournful twang and Nashville-inspired instrumentation, could enhance her appeal with mainstream country audiences.

The original was released on “Stronger,” her fifth studio album. Clarkson described the song’s original version as a “vocally raw record,” i.e., recorded as fans might hear her sing in concert and not with any studio enhancements.

When the original version was released last August, Clarkson said she had picked the song as the album’s first single because “it’s very different from a first single for me. Usually we go with an anthem, guitar-driven song. This is very different. . . . It’s just super sassy and it sets up the album nicely.”

Clarkson has won two Academy of Country Music Awards and one Country Music Association Award.
